Midway between downtown Honolulu and Waikiki Beach, this peaceful hotel is just a half-mile from the convention center. The sense of tranquility on the hotel grounds comes from the series of fishponds that wind gracefully around the Pagoda Floating Restaurant and Japanese garden. These freshwater ponds are filled with koi, the Japanese ornamental carp that is a symbol of luck, courage, and longevity. The hotel also has a spring-fed saltwater pond that is home to 50–80 pound Ulua fish (prized for their fighting ability), as well as a variety of other fish.

This hotel includes 359 guestrooms in two separate wings. The 12-story main Pagoda Tower is adjacent to the Pagoda Floating Restaurant and surrounding koi ponds. The five-story Pagoda Terrace is across the street from the floating restaurant and tower and has its own pool, sundeck, and koi pond. All hotel rooms are air-conditioned and have bright-colored rugs, in-room safes, coffeemakers with complimentary coffee and tea, and refrigerators. Cable TVs offer pay movies.
